Hey guys i hope posting this as a new thread isnt an issue. If anything id move it to where its allow. So the store is currently 25% off and id love to snag all the books i can with this deal however i can really over spend currently. Can anyone give me some advise on what books to grab? Im mostly looking for all the books that have to do with PC creation.
Was actually considering a bundle that had those 3 and sword coast adventure aswell but I’m not to sure if I even needed this or if anything player related my be missing. Like I said anything to make PCs is welcome would you recommend the fourth one as well? Anything else I might be missing?
Hmmmm.... If you don’t have any, getting Tasha’s and Xanathar seems like a waste, I say get :
Player handbook and any campaign module that you and your friends wanna play
granted, if you have a lot of money to spend at once on books, Tasha’s and Xanathar aren’t bad picks, but a campaign module should come first ( unless of course you have a home brew )

That really depends on what Aax wants to get out of DDB. If the main concern is getting content for the character sheets (possibly to share with others), the sourcebooks will be the n° 1 priority. If they want to be able to run an adventure here, a module might be more important.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
After that, it is pretty much up to taste. Tasha is on one of the better ones, but some people prefer a module, or a setting - i.e. if you want Dunamancy you got to get Wildemonte.
Then comes Tasha's (TCE). If you haven't already invested a bunch, it is THE BEST thing to get for a #2 purchase.
After that, you need to decide what all you want. More classes, feats, and magic items? Go Xanathar's (XGE). More PC races? Go Volo's (VGM). Even more Races, go Sword Coast.
Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (Scag) is a better buy for you than Mordenkainen's (MTF), because both come with Gray Dwarves and Deep Gnomes. MTF also comes with the Githyanki and Githzarai, and too many darn elf and demon options. I know that sounds like a good thing, but it really has diminishing returns. Scag on the other hand has Half-Elf and Tiefling variants (in almost the same quantity), as well as the Ghostwise Halfling, AND spells if you skipped XGE, and additional subclasses... as well as backgrounds and stuff your players can build characters around (like deities).
The last good book for PC's (though maybe not character creation) is the DMG. It has the magic items and other-setting equipment.
If you need an adventure book, Tomb of Annihilation has the best additions in terms of equipment and backgrounds (but you'd be buying the book for like... 4 tiny things), followed by Curse of Strahd for a background and treasure kit, and after that, it's mostly for magic items.

I just want to point out that during the current 25% off sale the books are actually cheaper individually then they would be by getting the bundles. Bundles are discounted 10%-15% and that does not stack with the 25% off sale.
Edit to add: If you were considering one of the big bundles, you might debate on whether or not they are still worth it. It would cost more to buy the bundle outright, but the bundle also comes with discounts on future books that would fit in the bundle. Also, if you think you might upgrade to the bundle at some point, since you are credited what you actually paid for books towards the price of the bundle, buying the bundle will effectively negate this sale where you bought the books.
I still do not get why so many people like TCE. Maybe it's me.
But compared with Xanther:
TCE gives: 2 new subclasses for all the classes, plus it re-prints Artificer from Ebberon (with some changes).
TCE gives a small list of about 21 new spells, plus similar options for -non-spell casters (Maneuvers, etc.)
About 15 feats
About 50 new magic items, including tattoos.
Some DM stuff, such as sidekicks, puzzles etc.
Lets you replace certain character decisions when you go up in level. Not new content, just a fix for the game.
Xanther's Gives you:
MORE subclasses than TCE (On average 3 new ones per class)
FAR more spells - albeit most of them were previously published in other books. But still, getting over a hundred new spells is > 21)
About 15 feats, but these are race-restricted and generally BETTER feats than standard ones
About 20 or so new magic items. Most of them weak.
LOTS of DM stuff
Basically Xanther beats TCE except on magic items. But you can only have 3 attuned magic items....
I can see preferring TCE if you want to play a psychic character. But your DM does not need express rules for things like changing cantrips when you level up. Once you know it is allowed, you do not need a Wizard's book to list out all the stuff you can change when you level up. So aside from magic items and psyonics, Xanther is the better choice. Better spells, better feats, better sub-classes, better DM stuff.
Now it is a different story if you have already bought all the books. Then you do not care as much about Xanther because all those spells are repeats.
If you are playing wizard, I highly recommend both XGTE and TCOE. XGTE give you more spells, but TCOE gives a lot of fun magic items for wizards. And both give you additional fun subclasses.
If you are not playing wizard, I think TCOE is still worth it for the optional class features and other extra content for all classes.
Dam im hella excited i got some great responses here now im sorta stuck on what to do cause the bundles are fairly expensive but getting them seems like a good idea due to the future discount mentioned above. I guess im going to have to wait a bit longer i was planning on grabbing all the books regardless at some point to have all the content able, i was just focusing on mostly the races, classes, Sub classes, and spells or items available to work with for PC creation. Im going to look at the bundles again cause i dont recall there being a future discount but if its there than i guess ill be waiting for a big purchase instead of a few books in one go.

Legendary bundle gives 15% off future adventure books or sourcebooks
Sourcebook bundle gives 10% of future sourcebooks and adventure bundle gives 10% off future adventure books.
Player bundle gives no discount on future purchases.
Now, one of the nice things on D&DBeyond is that you can make purchases now, and the amount you pay is subtracted from the cost of the bundle. So if you pay $22.50 to get the Players Handbook both the legendary and sourcebook bundles will be reduced by $22.50. It is worth noting that you will effectively have to make up the difference between the sale price and the bundle discount if you later purchase the bundle.
As an example, I bought the Player's Handbook, Xanathar's, and Tasha's on this sale at 25% off. If I look at the Player's bundle it tells me that it would cost $43.76 to buy the bundle, despite the fact that I would only get the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide out of it which would be much cheaper to buy on its own.

Dam thats great im probably going to go ahead and just wait a few months and grab the legendary bundle since it seems quite worth it. Im going to take in to consideration gabbing xanathar, tashas, phb and scag during this sale though since in the end the price will be the same regardless all that will be is ill have earlier access to them. Thanks again.

Players Handbook (obviously)
Tasha's
Xanathar's
And then if you want a 4th get the 'guide' sourcebook appropriate to whichever world the game is set in (or closest to)

PHB for sure.
