With the two combined... games can go on for even more hours!
I doubt it would be an official product, but it would be cool if on April Fools or some really good homebrewer created the Monopoly Dungeon campaign, where a party lands on a particular square and has to raid a dungeon based on that locations position value. Kinda a Dungeon of the Mad Mage with a wealth generation mechanic. The chance and community chest cards can be like Deck of Many-esque changes of fortune. Jail requires an escape effort, etc.

I'm expecting the four sides of the board to contain creatures CR suitable for the four tiers of play. Wondering whether Boardwalk and Parkplace are like Gold and Silver dragons, or something like the Tarrasque even though that would be lost on the casual fan buying into the game. Baltic Avenue I'm betting is Kobolds since in addition to board placement there's some kinda not rhyme but phoneme synergy going on between Baltic and Kobold, linguists help me out.
Where on the board would you put the Beholder?
Should they go with paper Monopoly money or a increase the MSRP by actually producing D&D coin currency? That would be a lot of plastic, and make the game really heavy though. Maybe cardboard chits? But those don't last as long as Monopoly money, which is an oddly resilient game component, come to think of it.

I guess this might be something I would buy but never play.

Does anyone know if this is just a standard re-skinned Monopoly or if it is going to have some sort of unique mechanic to it to set it apart?

Bet it's just going to be yet another reskinned Monopoly.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

As an MtG player, this just multiplies my hatred for Hasbro and their greed. It’s the perfect symbol.

First Clue and now Monopoly?!? When will the assault on my bank account end? My checking is only 12 AC!
First person to go bankrupt gets shanked?
That's not the way things work at all. Winner gets shanked.
You're right. How silly of me.
I'm going to buy this just for the minis!
