The apocalypse was brought upon by 5 wizards that tamed and bound the great spirits.Said wizards are also dead from more rebellious spirits.the world remains with vestiges of this great upheaval with broken spirits (living spells and fey) roaming the land and slightly strange and extreme landscape.
The gods are little more then combined representations of the related spirits with the apoclypse this has lead to the broken god of chaos and corruption Pòsdǔdìzayī (I have no idea how one is to pronounce that) and the other gods becoming notably more erratic.
The town Wayward is built on the ruins of battle field and swears Loyalty to the warriors who died there. They have several festivals to appease the spirits and in turn the spirits protect them from the more wild or inhuman ones. The warriors of the village are called warbound and act as hosts for several of the spirits. The spirits give them skill with weapons and strength.

However the area is full of enraged spirits who shall not see themselves caged again with out a fight.
The dead are burned as quickly as possible, if they were left out or even buried the wild spirits would possess the corpses, using the new physical body to wreak further havoc

The listless bodies who have died but the spirit remain attached partly. They tend to do what they did in life but slowly and they don’t react unless they need to. Their bodies rot and decay but they keep working as best they can. Their eyes turn a dull grey. They can be possessed by spirits but even they see them as bad hosts.
In on a small Island there lies a single village of humans that have done the truly unthinkable and allowed the wild spirits to live freely among them.in this tiny village nearly every resident has some level of chaos or nature magic within their own blood and every house keeps an earth or water as an pet or accomplice.

Spirits of stone began to adapt them to the environment rougher skin to protect them from the jagged walls hearing to make up for sight and the ability to endure anything. They had created a home for themselves but the creature that lived in it could no longer be called human instead they named them selfs stoneborn. The stoneborn have thick rough skin and much better hearing but the sun burn them the the surface changes too fast for them. They remain in there caves slowly cutting rocks into what they need. They live longer then most human and require less food.

They use marks maps and good luck to create routes between encampments and provided maps guides and mail. They claim to work with a great spirit of expansion, exploration and community. Most people think that they are a bit to adventurous then heathy but if you need to trade then your better off using their maps and guides. They also spread spelling
Deep within a jungle lies a powerful spirit of life that grew the jungle from the ground up.This powerful life spirit was one augmented directly by the 5 wizards and can cast mass heal regulary or summon 2 living spells of spike growth but is otherwise fairly incapable in combat.
Hallow’s eve and midwinter are the two times of the years when spirits are most active. Hallow’s eve seems to act like alcohol to them riling them up and loosening restrictions. Midwinter impowers more human spirits.

during all hallow´s eve spirits become nigh uncontollable weakinging magic and releasing trapped spirits.spiraca´s are also affected by these times as well becoming wild and immune to controlling magic on hallow´s eve and docile,logical and even a little cold during mid winter.
Wayward Celebrates the festival of blood on hallow’s eve. A large gladiator battle where will the winner is celebrated for the rest of the week. On midwinter there is the feast of honor where they recall the stories of their patron warriors and battles that they have fought.
dragons were created after one of the five create wizards replaced the blood of a snake with condesened change spirits after it resulted what was the first dragon (which grew entangled with spirits personally and evolved into coutals) the wizard set out to create more and more varieties of dragons. kobolds were made from tiny little lizards and dragonborn from baby turtles.
Many believe that any born on all hollows eve are born with powers of freedom and fear and will bring great change.In addition those born in midwinter are believed to be born with powers of stability and peace and they will prevent some change.
The rare Blue Irephoil grows only in and around the town of Prodoehl and produces a large sapphire looking seed.That if turned to powder, can be used as a spell component to compel a wild spirit into service.
Not far from wayward lies the place known as Riddle Hills so called for the spirits of wisdom and curiosity that reside there giving riddles to all they come across.Figuring out the riddles gives you a token to call the spirit on a later date failing to so will annoy the spirit who may drive you off from that area.Some diviners say that Riddle hills reveals it´s secrets to all who listen and that omens are easy to find.
