Is it possible (as a DM) to copy a PC into my collection?

As the title says, I'm trying to copy a player's character into my collection. Is this possible, if yes, how? Thanks!

It's not possible without the owning players help. They can make a copy of the character, then unassign it. You can then claim the PC and remove it from the campaign
