Not a fan of the marketing material for the new DragonLance book "Shadow of the Dragon Queen" What is this, an advertisement for WW1 or WW2? Its just cheesy. And where are the Knights mustaches?!
Shadow of the Dragon Queen is an adventure set against the backdrop of war, so it makes sense the promo material might leverage that historical wartime propaganda look.
I had heard on the Morrus' Unofficial Tabletop RPG Talk podcast that the artists were greatly inspired by the Great War; one of the artworks features the knights standing atop a defeated dragon, which they took from World War One photographs of blasted/captured tanks.
As for it being "cheesy," that's not the worst the worst advertisement Wizards of the Coast have put out...
Zero is the most important number in D&D: Session Zero sets the boundaries and the tone; Rule Zero dictates the Dungeon Master (DM) is the final arbiter; and Zero D&D is better than Bad D&D.

At least put some mustaches on those guys, lol. The Knights of Solamnia were known for their mustaches. All in fun. Looking forward to the new DL book/set
