I agree with Pang, that could be an Artificer, they looks sort of tech-ish, but really, judging purely by looks? Anything. There's no class in the game that has an appearance requirement. They have a long coat on and no armor to speak of. That could be a Wizard. I don't see any weapons, so maybe that's a Rogue. The fact is that they can change their clothing, so who knows?
The gauntlet has strong High School DxD vibes(Not Work Safe googling if you're curious), and the way his gear works is very reminiscent of either an Artificer from a pure looks standpoint, or a Warlock from a "Has a pact with an ancient being who gives him his power" standpoint.
Otherwise, and this isn't a criticism of the drawing or its skill as I could not come close to that level of artistry at all, its generic anime character #246. Which could be anything. My gutcheck reaction is Fire Emblem Sword User, but that's me.
This gives off interesting vibes to me because yes he definitely has artificer vibes but if i can go into more detail seeing him with a strong gauntlet and even tech-like boots i'd say war forged because his coat also gives off the misty feel of a ranger idk why i feel this way but I do.
@voiddragon174 - so what class do YOU want it to be? That is the most important question, after all. But, I’d echo some of the other comments:
- looks mostly artificer due to high tech
- but…what would be the campaign setting? Perhaps higher tech is commonplace, and if so, it could reasonably be any class.
- As others have said, it looks like a generic anime character. It’s drawn well, though. A couple of artistic constructive criticisms: The distance from the shoulder to the elbow of the glove hand is too long. Also, the waistline is too low. The legs to the crotch look in proportion to themselves, but the entirety of them up to the belt buckle should be moved up to almost touching where the elbow currently is.
Is this your character for a game you’re playing in, an NPC, or a different project entirely?
A character class in some kind of science fiction system. The clothing does not look fantasy at all. I know there’s lots of different kinds of fantasy, but those boots scream syfy. The whole aesthetic, really, feels more future than past.
Yeah, this is a very generic anime character that could be any class (though barbarian and monk are extremely unlikely).
Yeah, my first thought was that he looks like a Final Fantasy character. Doesn't give off an "armored" vibe, but any kind of caster could potentially fit as well as rogue. Whatever the deal is on his forearm gives off the kind of hybrid scifi/fantasy vibe I get from FF and a lot of similar JRPG/anime settings, and I'd be tempted to suggest a warlock or sorcerer based solely on my personal impression of the aesthetic. The mix of neat and rugged appearance suggested by the outfit looks right in line for a standard freelance adventurer/treasure hunter/mercenary who tries to be ready for anything and sorcerers and warlocks can both function quite well with minimal equipment.
The thing about whether he's armored or not is that he's wearing a longcoat,so he could have armor underneath it (probably not heavy armor, but it's possible). Kind of like the way Dragon Age: Inquisition handled heavy armor.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Artificer vibe.
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].

Armorer Artificer with a Thunder Gauntlet?
Could be artificer, or the gauntlet could be a magic item that he didn't make himself.
I could see an emo bard. Or a rogue or ranger. Even a Dex-based paladin since I get goody-two-shoes vibes.
