So I've heard in a couple other threads that the feature mentioned in the title is looking into being released in the near future in some update I believe? My wording may not be exact, but hopefully my point will get across. I was wondering when it will be released or is expected to, and if this is already mentioned somewhere else, could someone point it to be? Ah, I do want to clarify this is not meant to be nagging, I am not trying to say "hurry up". Rather, I want to know if that is a tool I can count on in the near future or if I should move forward assuming it won't come but quite some time.
For about 99% of new features, they never, ever give dates here. Which can be frustrating as a fan and user, but I also absolutely agree that it's the best policy. The most they will do is discuss what is coming next, and what is generally soon after that. Usually it seems they get a major addition out every month or two, so "what's next" is rarely more than a month off. (Again usually, because it entirely depends on how big the next feature is.)
I believe the next major feature release is the new character sheet? (Although I haven't had a chance to watch the last Dev Update to be certain.) Not sure what's in line after that. I do know Homebrew SUBclasses is on the list, but Homebrew Classes is not (or if it is on the list, it's so far off in the future as to be purely theoretical, and as a programmer, I imagine it's something so difficult to pull off here, that it makes them break out in a sweat considering it).
So if I had to guess (and this is pure speculation, I have zero inside knowledge), we might have the new character sheet late February or early March. Then maybe some small updates in April to let them focus their efforts on Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes release in May. So I wouldn't expect a new major feature like Homebrew Subclasses until sometime mid to late summer at absolute earliest. If it is even the next major new feature, and considering there's also the mobile app to fully release and add features there, I'm not sure we can expect Homebrew Subclasses even that soon. This is just me armchair speculating, so don't put any weight in that. :)
However, I am very confident in believing Homebrew Classes are not going to happen any year soon, and Homebrew Subclasses seem likely/possible for 2018, but not in the next few months.
Edit to add: Although I do sound pessimistic about homebrew subclasses being released soon, there is at least hope that it will happen, and hopefully before too long. For one thing, they have said they are working on it. For another thing, if you look along the menu of the sorts of content they have on here, now that we have homebrew races (which is a HUGE addition) EVERYthing now has a homebrew option except subclasses and I think non-magic items. Monsters - homebrewable. Magic items - homebrewable. Spells - homebrewable. Feats - homebrewable. Backgrounds - homebrewable. Races - homebrewable.
The only other major feature I know they are working on after the new character sheet is Campaign Management. Had forgotten about that. Given the level of discussion and idea-gathering, I get the feeling that Campaign Management might come before Homebrew Subclasses. (However, homebrew races surprised me, so I'm likely wrong on all of this.) ;) So, unfortunately, I'd update the above to guess (again, pure speculation) that Homebrew Subclasses are more likely in the Fall than the Summer, but still looking like a good bet for sometime this year considering everything else is homebrewable, so it would "complete the homebrew set" nicely. :)

Alright, thanks for everything!
