Planning on having a 1vs1 one shot fight between my character (a human rogue assassin) and a fellow party member (a tiefling paladin). I know it’s a tough fight for my rogue to win but I’m hoping not to go down too quickly, and maybe even have a chance…?
Open to any and all advice and ideas for how best to approach and try and win this fight, in fight decisions, maneuvers, attack suggestions, defensive strategies, etc.
If you post the build of the Rogue (and the Paladin if you know it), that might make it much easier for others to advise you. Also, if you have any constraints on the fight etc.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Without any other information, the best strategy is to "kite" them. Stay at range and use cover and concealment to your advantage if you can. Cunning Action will be key.
It will take a long time given a paladin's general defensive capabilities and the assassin toolset being mostly useless in the scenario, but technically not impossible.
