Hi all, long time player here, but new to fifth edition. I'm going to start up a campaign in a few weeks, either with Lost Mine of Phandelver or Hoard of the Dragon Queen, I haven't decided yet.
I'm unfamiliar with Faerun, so I'm wondering if there are any large islands (20 x 20 miles at least) off the Sword Coast that have not yet received much game material? I would like to have the player characters be citizens of an island kingdom and I would prefer not to change anything that has already been covered by official setting. Thanks in advance.
The island of Mintarn is mentioned in the backstory of one of the starter set premade characters. There is a bit of detail about it in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. I don't think it's used directly in any published adventures for 5e but it has a pretty established history/society.

Don't be afraid of the dark. Be afraid of what's in it.
