We just arrive at Ythryn in Rime of the Frostmaiden and the scale just seems a bit off. I was trying to figure it out beforehand but when I told the party that the city is only about 1,000 feet across it didn't sound right to any of us. The Mythallar is about 50 feet wide and it kind of checks out with the scale given but the city itself just seems like it should be wider. Or maybe it's just hard to discern with the fact that it's leaning? Anyone else have any ideas? Is there an official word on how large the city is?
The perspective of the drawing makes it terrible for judging scale, but measuring at the widest point across already brings it closer to 1500 ft. If I recall correctly a Mythallar has an effective range of 1 mile, so it could be 6-7 times that large in theory though. Given the drawing's perspective, I'd say a diameter of anywhere between 1500 and even up to 5000 ft are plausible. Split it roughly down the middle and went with 3500 ft myself, or 2/3 of a mile.

I do wonder if what is under the ice is just a fragment that survived. A big old chunk was knocked off at one point and landed elsewhere in ice wind dale
I treated the map in the book as sort of a tourist map that isn't quite to scale. The game assumes that the party can spend multiple days exploring the city.
