About a month ago me and my party wrapped up a campaign where I was playing a character with the Touch of Death dark gift. Getting rid of it was never a priority during the campaign, but I have been wondering if there is a way to get rid of a dark gift or if he has to deal with it for the rest of his life. I'm willing to accept any ideas even if they don't work well with existing mechanics of the game as this is mainly just for backstory closure lol
(p.s, I'm very new to using the forums so if this is not the right place to post this question I'm sorry)
Definitely the right place, no worries. And even should the topic turn out to be better off in another subforum, then the mods will just send it there. It's all good.
The reason there's no clearly defined mechanic for this is, I assume, that it shouldn't be straightforward. If you acquired the gift through a curse, getting rid of the curse will remove the gift as well; however, the book explains getting rid of a curse is not straightforward either. Nonetheless, it should be possible. If it were something you wanted to sort out during the campaign, I'd suggest talking it through with your DM. Even without a curse being involved, the means of resolution should probably something in the same vein.
