I do not think I would allow it for weapons such as Flame/Frost blades but I might offer revised editions of the Flame/Frost blades that could ignore resistance as magic items. Or maybe even higher powered magic items that could reduce immunity to resistance.
So one thing to consider is that Blood Hunter has a Blood Curse for this scenario. The Blood Curse of Exposure is a little less automatic, but it allows you to bypass resistance, or immunity if you amplify, until the end of the turn.
Does the feat Elemental adept apply to a Blood Hunters Crimson Rite ability?

No, but that doesn't mean your DM has to abide by that. The combination seems entirely reasonable and would be allowed at my table at least.
Thanks, it seemed a good fit to me.

Thanks, yes I know and when I get a chance to play plan on picking that as an option.
Depending on the game I can see the number of blood curses being limited by a short or long rest to possibly be a bit of an issue.
In general I do like how the Blood Hunter class is designed, abilities and limitations as well as the niche it fills in the D&D class line up.
