Hi - newbie, so apologies if posting the wrong place…
I have a Druid with an understandably poor AC. I want to home brew her a wooden Buckler, cut down from a larger shield so she can wear it on her arm and have some protection, but can still wield with 2 hands if necessary. My DM has agreed to this and we decided that reducing the AC bump to 1 (from standard 2) seems fair. Any ideas how I can do this on the Equipment tab? I can customise weight etc. but the AC applied is automatically +2.
I tried homebrewing creation tab, but that only lets me make magic items, not modified normal items.
I’ve settled on adding a standard shield to my AC but manually adjusting this is fine but I’d like it to work on my digital character sheet?
Yeah the ability to homebrew mundane items would be a great piece of functionality to add, but it is not quite there yet. It sounds to me like you have done the right thing.
The ddb character sheets are awesome in terms of their functionality and automation, and I am sure that one day we'll be able to create more custom mundane items to add and enrich with :)
Hi - thanks for this. I did actually manage it in the end by making a ‘magic’ shield which I modified to give a -1 AC bonus. It added the +2 when equipped but took it back down to +1 with the modifier. I then customised the weight to 3lb since it’s half the size. “Mel’s non-magic Buckler” is now a thing😂

For future reference, you can also manually add bonuses to your AC by clicking on that part of your character sheet, hitting "customize" and adding info to the appropriate "additional bonus" box. That's generally my workaround for things like the Forge cleric's Blessing of the Forge feature and any temp AC boost a character gets from spells.

Nice work around 👍🏻

I love the non-magic magic item, lol.

That’s just what I was looking for - thankyou!
