is there a way to have books I already own upload in D&D Beyond? I just bought the Guide to Wildemount and would love to access it for my next character.
Yes, go to the Marketplace, click on any book. When you're on that book's marketplace page, scroll down past the book cover and "main text" and you'll see content (usually subclasses, races, spells, monsters, magic items, feats and background) from the book available for piecemeal. Individual items are often also bundled under the book too, so you could get "all the book's subclasses" or "all the books spells" etc. without having to buy the book. If you buy "everything" that way from a book you miss out some of the compendium content and I think on average save a couple of bucks.
Any content you purchase from the book gets credited to the price of the whole book if you ever decide to go all in on that book.
