It does say that if I cancel my subscription and start it over I will lose them and gain something else in stead, just scared I will lose the dice I got If I upgraded, just in case it counts as resubscribing

Hm... I guess what you can do is to upgrade, but do not cancel Hero Subscription yet, and send a support ticket and have the support team adjust the charges or refunds or something.
I thought if you cancelled the sub, you lost access, but regained access upon resubscription.

I believe that when you cancel, your access to these items is suspended, but they are not removed. When you sub at a higher level, this is still considered a subscription, and thus should once again provide access to your items.
