Hi.  My DM told me he wants my character to have advantage on insight checks, and I can't figure out how to edit my character to reflect that on D&D beyond.  Can someone tell me if that's possible, please? I temporarily put in a custom ability and labeled it "advantage on insight checks" until I can figure out otherwise.

Since there's no core rule that allows such, you are correct in adding a custom ability to grant this to your character.

You can homebrew a feat that gives you advantage in Wisdom (Insight) checks, and add it to your character.
