I am looking to use DnD Beyond for running a campaign with my kids. I would like them to have character sheets on their iPads. Will it work if I sign in with my account on each device and create the characters? I have 3 kids so it would be under the 6 character limit.
If I purchase the player handbook would they then have access to the content for their characters on my account?
They can create their own account or you can help them then you can create a campaign invite them to that campaign in messenger and then if they create a character in your campaign the content that you have bought will work.
I don't know about having the account open to multiple ipad's though.
It would be against the terms of service for you to allow your children to log in via your account. For them to have their own accounts, they would need to be at least 13 years of age (or more depending on the internet rules for your location.)
If they can and do create their own accounts, they would only have access to the free content in the SRD/Basic Rules, unless you have a Master Tier subscription which allows you to enable Content Sharing for the campaign. If you'd rather not get a subscription, you're allowed to use the homebrewing system to implement content for your own personal use, and your players would be able to use your homebrew via the campaign.

As stated above, by ToS, it's a breach. Technology wise, I believe it functions. I remember a few threads where a viable solution was discussed but I am fairly sure nothing solid has come yet.
