I've noticed that the art for The Stygian Gambit and Shard of the Accursed looks almost too 3D-like and out of place against the more traditional illustration styles in the rest of the book. It almost looks like the artist built the scene in 3D and then applied a paint texture over top, or simply drew over top of the existing scene.
The Shard of the Accursed scene in particular looks almost like they created the 3D scene, then illustrated over top, then brought back the flames and stuck them on top. It just has a strange feeling to the art that's different from the rest.
Here's a screenshot from the KFTGV Youtube video showing some parts of the Shard of the Accursed art for those without the book:
Flipping through them online doesn't seem particular different, and definitely not worse, than any other D&D book, in fact I'd say it's better than some of the recent releases. I'm not particular a fan of what seems to be WotC D&D's "house style" and the impact it has on other 5e products outside of official WotC releases, but this release seems pretty good to me.

It's gross :| I hope this doesn't become a trend in future books.
