Hey y'all! I'm in the progress of making a Hexblade Warlock 2/Swashbuckler Rogue X. I plan on taking custom lineage and the actor feat for some roleplay, but I'm concerned about combat effectiveness. Obviously with sneak attack and the boosted critical odds with Hexblade's Curse provide lots of potential nova damage, but I'm worried that the character becomes super ineffective with just a few misses in a row. I was thinking rapier and shield to make use of the proficiency from Hexblade and leave bonus actions open for Cunning Action, but is that a good move? It seems like I might want to run double Shortswords just for the extra chance for sneak attack.
I would definitely go with dual weapons for the extra chance to hit with sneak attack damage. Even dual daggers are almost as effective as dual rapiers because of how many sneak attack damage dice you get.
You may want to consider 3rd level as a warlock for Misty Step. That spell is incredibly useful, I can see a swashbuckler using it to increase his battlefield mobility.
