It depends. Do you face a lot of spellcasters in your campaign? Note that the Mantle of Spell Resistance only works on spells, not just any magical effects.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

It does depend on how common Spellcasters are. Personally, given that Advantage gives +3.25 on average, so Mantle of Spell Resistance gives only 2.25 more than the Cloak of Protection, while the Cloak of Protection works against pretty much everything...I'd go for the Cloak of Protection. However, if you're in a spellcaster-heavy campaign, then the Mantle of Spell Resistance may serve you better.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Therein lies the rub, and why I am currently wearing the good old cloak of protection.
Our DM throws the kitchen sink at us, and the BBEG is an Acererak-level, homebrew Lich, so there has been and will be spellcasting... but so much else.
Tons of combat- playing a Bladesinger, so I mix it up in melee- and he also has environmental/atmospheric challenges for Con saves for exhaustion, tons of skill checks. We roll for everything. I have a 17 AC, 18 with the Cloak of Protection. That has been the deal breaker so far.
But I know I will regret it, woefully, at some point, when I inevitably get Plane Shifted to the City of Brass on the Plane of Fire.
The mantle of spell resistance is on average about 4x as effective against spells, and does nothing against other threats. So, do you think 25% of threats are spells? In most campaigns the answer is no, but in some campaigns the answer might be yes.
Another thing you might want to consider: While advantage gives you an average bonus of +3.25 it won't raise the maximum Save-DC you can overcome. That might be something to consider going into the lategame. It sounds to me that you should go with the cloak of protection (since you're going into melee).
I come from an "every little bit helps" mindset so I feel Cloak of Protection is better option. The +1 to saves gets you closer to target DC: +1 for your concentration CON save; +1 to AC makes you harder to hit. It seems small until the success/failure of a roll is decided by 1.
I am agonizing over this very choice.

Cloak of Protection gives you +1AC plus +1 to Saving Throws.
Mantle of Spell Resistance gives you Advantage on Saving Throws for spells.

The Cloak is really a much stronger option for a Bladesinger.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

I knew I came to the right place!
Thank you.

If only you were Yuan-ti, you'd have Magic Resistance covered. :)
