As the DM for our next campaign I'm planning on using the alternative healing proposed in the DMG, p.267 where PCs roll hit dice for their health during a long rest instead of fully healing.
I was wondering if this was integrated in D&D Beyond somewhere, or if there was a way around the "Long Rest" button filling you HP to its maximum? Since the PCs will still retain all other benefits from a long rest, they unfortunately can't simply click "Short Rest" since all the other automations for spells slots and abilities won't occur.
"Reset Maximum HP Changes" has nothing to do with healing. That's for stuff like turning on or off recovery from a vampire's life drain.
As it stands, DDB does not support any of the variant healing/rest options in the DMG and has no intention of ever doing so. Sorry, Yaya. You aren't allowed to use variant rest/healing rules with DDB sheets.
Yeah, it's too bad. I tried to use that variant healing rule as well, but it proved to be too mechanically difficult while everyone was using Beyond. So, we just went back to "a good night's sleep heals shattered bones."

Hey all!

Thank you! :)
There's a check box when they click long rest that says "Reset Maximum HP changes during this rest" have them un-click that.
Disregard, that was only for their max HP changes. RIP. doesn't seem like it from what I can see.

Please do not contact or message me.
Haha sounds good, thanks! We'll just have to go manually until then
