Hello Everyone, I am playing a Tiefling Paladin in Adventure League and recently received the Ring of Evasion from Ixas in a season one adventure. Since it lets you auto save on dexterity saves would it be beneficial to also take the Shield Master Feat as I had planned or do I just offer it up as a trade to anyone willing to trade a magic item for it. My intention for the character was to take the Shield Master and Ritual Caster Feats. This item seems a bit redundant with the Shield Master Feat.
That was my thought at the very least. I don't want to back my character into a corner with any one item but the dynamic behind the Ring and SM would be kind of powerful. If I fail a Dexterity save I could take half with my reaction from the ring and if I succeed I take no damage with my reaction from SM. With just SM I wouldn't be able to take the half on a fail but as a paladin its not likely I'll fail all to often after I reach Lvl6 anyway.

It's all up to you. Maybe the person you're trading with will give you something better...
