I might be missing something obvious here but how do I add a new subrace to my homebrew race. I can't edit the published version and if I make a new version it seems to remove all the current subraces.
When creating the parent race, did you check the "has subraces" box?
Yeah, that's probably your problem. I created the Merfolk from Plane Shift: Zendikar, including all 3 subraces (Emeria, Ula, Cosi) so I know it's possible.
I did and I originally had subraces. Now I want to add another subrace but I can't edit the published version of my race and if I create a new copy it removes all the original subraces. So I need a way to add the new subrace to the race but with all the original subraces still remaining.
Since your race is published, can you provide a link to it? That way some of us can try to reproduce the problem.
Nevermind: I realized I could filter by username, and you've only submitted one race. I can confirm that it does not appear as a race in the "select a race to create a new subrace for" dropdown in homebrew races, even if the race is in my collection.
It's troubling to hear that you can't edit your published race. I haven't published anything, so I can't explore that aspect. Maybe one of the mods with Homebrew expertise will chime in.

Thanks
The second box on this page is to create subrace from an existing race.
I saw that but the list of options doesn't include my homebrew race.
