I did a quick search for this topic and did not find anything. I have several characters already created and leveled to level nine that I would like to import into DNDBeyond so that my son and I can play while I am on business travel. Is there a way to create a character to match my character sheets that I have already built? Thank you all!
Its the same format as is available from the Player's Handbook but in PDF format. What I was hoping I would be able to do is just build a custom sheet in DND and add the stats from my sheets. Based on what you are saying, I am understanding that this is not possible?
If you in fact own the PHB here on DDB and all the other source material you would need to play the character on DDB, then you simply make a new character and put in all the info that is on the sheet.. There is no way to auto import the PDF, but you can just follow the character builder to make the characters you have on paper.

PDF is a format that defines the layout of text and images. Some programs let you copy bits and pieces of text, but it is not a format that is easily imported (although I have done it).
Regardless though D&D beyond is a database with discrete elements, and they didn't build any type of import. You need to use their "character builder" which is a tool to create the character, it is not a simple sheet. Doesn't take long though.
That's annoying since I have a friend who downloaded and gave me a Character that they made for me in D&D Beyond, but I wanted to import it to my Collection. So, not being able t Import sucks.

No, they didn't build any kind of import. Your character sheets I assume are in your own custom format.
