Pretty simple question, just don't know how this works...
My wife and I have been wanting to get into D&D for quite a long time, and with DDB it seems like it may be the best time for us to finally try. My questions is: Is there a way for me to set it up so that if I purchase the source books I can then share them with my wife whenever we get into a game? I know there are ways to set up "campaigns" and what not, but IDK if that allows you to share inside games you didn't create?
Im extremely knew to this system so I apologize if this is a stupid question.
If you have the Master tier subscription, then ANY campaign you join can benefit from whatever sources are in your own collection.
So only one of you needs the subscription, and that person needs to be the buyer of books. Then, regardless of who creates a campaign, as long as the Master tier subscriber is in it and content sharing is turned on, any sources owned by the subscriber will get shared to the people also in that campaign.

My understanding is that you don't have to have the subscription to share. So long as a subscriber is in the campaign, everyone's content is shared. This, if one of them has the subscription, both will be able to use the content of the other as well as their own.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Yes, that is what i meant to say, just not that well articulated as i reread it. I also assumed that since this was a married couple, they'd probably drop all the purchases on one account for efficiencies sake.
But that is correct; In any campaign, so long as a Master Tier subscriber is there, then all content from all players in the campaign will get shared if the Campaign creator enables it.
Awesome! Appreciate the reply. Yes I planned on putting everything on my account and having hers share content as needed. Seems like that's possibile. Thanks again!!
There is a limit of only 5 campaigns that any one master tier subscriber can provide content sharing to at any time. But the number of characters within each campaign is much higher, so it probably won't be a problem, since 5 campaigns tends to be enough for both people, but just in case you two end up in a couple separate campaigns as well.
No, if you have the subscription, you have to be in the campaign. However, unless you're planning on being in 5 other campaigns and/or the campaign in which your wife is playing without you already has 12 players (pretty unlikely on either count, most likely), then just add yourself into that campaign. You don't need to participate, and everyone will share all their content in that campaign.

Something I've done in our group is to create a campaign and invite all our group members to it. They can then create characters they want within the campaign using all the content we've collectively bought (all races, I believe, as well as all classes/subclasses and most backgrounds, feats and spells, lol) They can then remove the character from the campaign setting and move to another if hey need (We've done it as a group once already) I have a Master Tier and own a decent amount of content myself. My daughter, her boyfriend and another guy in our group own a lot of stuff as well, which results in a huge array of options when we're all together.
Moving characters to another campaign MAY run into issue if the other campaign doesn't have a class/subclass you're using. Leveling might be a pain if you or she doesn't own the content required to create said character. Likely a rare occurrence, as I think most couples who play end up in mainly the same games, so the content sharing bleeds over anyway.

uh, may be a dumb question but i'll say it anyway....can't you just both log into the app with the same credentials on each phone? nownow everyone, this isn't password sharing...its one person physically logging into two devices that stay within arms' reach of the account owner (and likely both owned by the account owner).
edit: while my opinion..... pretty sure wotc actually has account sharing in mind with immediate family members...otherwise the terms of service wouldn't force you to agree to make your child aware of all the rules.

Is there a way for her to use the books in a campaign by herself without me being in it?
EDIT: I guess it doesn't really matter because she could just use the main account and create a new character but would be a nice feature.
