Question on the following scenario as I'm trying to understand how the "claim" feature works in a campaign:
As a DM, I subscribe to the Hero Tier on D&D Beyond, create a campaign and the characters in the campaign using content that I have purchased. A player uses the "claim" function for that character and begins to level up, etc.
Will the player be able to select options from my paid content since the character lives on / was created by my account and was just "claimed" by the player? OR will it treat the character as a separate copy on the players account and prevent them from utilizing the already paid for content?
Since I'd be on the hero tier, content sharing wouldn't be available, so we'd potentially have do all level ups on my account if the character is treated as being only on the player's account without the paid content. Any insight here would be appreciated!
If you do not have content sharing, you will have to transfer the characters back your account and level up them up. When a player claims your character, it is no longer your character, and they will not have access to any further options you have access to, unless they have paid for it.
Ahh, I see now that when a character is "claimed", it actually moves that character to the new players account - it doesn't stay on mine like I thought. Thank you both for the answers and clarification!

Somebody in your campaign needs a Master Tier subscription in order for content to be shared between all the players and DM of that campaign.
