Hello, I'm wanting to get feedback on what everyone thinks about dm's. Ones they've had in the past or have heard from a friend. I want to be a dm in the near future, so I want to avoid any bad habits that people have issues with.
If you have a different answer than listed in the polls, just post a comment below. Or share your feedback overall with past experiences.
DM's are as diverse as Humans.... because they're human.. If you want horror stories, there are plenty. If you want mountains of praise, many deserve it.
The most important thing, as a DM and Human being, is the ability to engage thoughtfully with other people and enthusiastically grow from constructive criticism. As a new DM, you will make a lot of mistakes, but as long as everyone is having fun, it simply doesn't matter. Have a session zero with your party and straight up tell them that you are learning right along with them, and that you'll fix issues as they come up. Don't be afraid to start small with one shots and mini-adventures. Give yourself opportunities to do soft/hard resets.
Why is every option negative? I can be critical to be sure, but every DM has positive points too. Also, if a criticism is so widespread as to be applicable to DMs in general, I'm inclined to blame the common factor - the game itself.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I really am not sure what you are going for here - it seems like you intended to ask “what is your least favourite trait a DM can have?” Yet that is not what you asked, so, pending further clarification as to your intent, I will write out a response to the question posed.
From the ability to even put a party together in the first place through the capstone session of a campaign, there are countless opportunities for a DM to succeed or fail. The true test of a DM’s mettle is not whether they always succeed on these omnipresent challenges—there is not a single DM who can juggle everything without dropping a ball every now and then—but whether, more often than not, the party enjoys the experience.

If you want to avoid bad habits as a DM, then simply don't make a habit of anything in your poll. The only possibly positive thing is there not being enough DMs. Everything else is something you want to avoid. Posting polls like this is also something to avoid. You seem to already know what to avoid by providing this list in poll format.
A better thing would be to do a non-poll, list these things as things you want to avoid as habits, and ask people what other habits can be pitfalls for DMs.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

This is not an overall opinion poll so much as a largest criticism poll. So I guess for me it is ‘Other’ with the comment ‘a bit critical’.

Like Tanks in an MMORPG, there's not enough.

DMs are great. This poll is bad.
