TL;DR- I am looking for a solid YouTube introduction to the Forgotten Realms for a new player. Obviously it's a huge topic. I've yet to come across a single good video or a manageable series of them that can really introduce a new player to the setting at a somewhat high level. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
I am working to get my girlfriend into DnD but having a hard time getting her excited about creating a new character. She loves and has roleplayed her own original characters in MMOs for years, so it's not a matter of not embracing the concept. The challenge is that she has no base knowledge for any of the published worlds. We've watched videos on a couple of different races (drow and yuan-ti) that she finds interesting, but she's struggling to feel like she gets enough of the world overview to pick a lane and make a character that gets her excited.
As far as, "Why FR??" or "Why video??": The "kitchen sink" approach of the Forgotten Realms opens up the maximum number of fantasy options, something we both like. It also has by far the most published resources, something that's important to me as a DM. I know lots of people prefer other worlds or are all about homebrewing but FR is where we're going to first get her toes into the DnD water. I also know there are loads of great written FR resources (I own many from 2E, 3E, and 5E), but lore videos are something she loves.
I'm familiar with the work of some DnD YouTubers like Jorphdan, MrRhexx, and Forgotten Realms Lore. They have some great material! Unfortunately I just haven't found that one video or short series that seems like the ideal intro to give her something to wrap her head around.
Maybe start with picking a certain region that pertains to a campaign you plan on playing, and cherry-pick videos from Jorphdan's Forgotten Realms Explained playlist. She doesn't have to know everything all at the start!

Thanks very much for any advice!
