Has there been anything from the CR folks? I wonder if they are already in talks with WOTC about this or under some type of NDA, or maybe just watching to see how it plays out? Would be nice if Matt gave an opinion or something regarding all of this.
I doubt they have a need to give an opinion at all since they likely have their own private arrangement with WotC that is separate from any OGL process. That is kind of the whole point. If you happen to use the OGL to make something good enough for the OGL to start being a problem for you, WotC will likely just enter into a personal contract with you that is mutually beneficial. That's why a lot of this online doom-saying is kind of pointless.
Look at their twitter profile and specifically where the likes are. You can surmise that they do have an opinion, but there many reasons why they wouldn't be able to outwardly say anything.
Not only an existing contract, but as such a large group associated with DnD, their lawyers have likely told them to stay quiet until confirmation that the rumors are completely true. If you notice, Brennan Lee Mulligan and Dimention20 are similarly silent on this front. To say anything currently would be risky for them

Critical Role, Dimension 20, and the rest are never going to say anything on this subject, or any other big "Wizards is Evil" controversy. Their livelihoods depend on remaining on Wotsee's good side, and they're not going to spike their own companies just to take a fifteen-second stand on an issue that likely doesn't affect them either way. Or at least it doesn't drastically affect them - they're gonna get punched in the bologne for third-party books like Tal'Dorei Reborn, but their main business will be fine. IF they don't piss Wotsee off by opening their gobs and taking potshots.

That makes a lot of sense.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).

They almost certainly have a (lucrative) custom contract with WotC. Don't count on hearing anything from them one way or another.

Good point regarding an existing contract, and you are probably right.
