With the advent of the OGL 1.1, and its implications for the game, players, and livelihoods of thousands of people, we cannot in good conscience continue to support Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. If a change is made to the OGL 1.1 that actively supports the intended structure of OGL 1.0, this decision may change. If you care for this brand, listen to the community grown over the past 48 years.
I run two tables. I've told both that I will continue each campaign to conclusion (or TPK), but that if OGL 1.1 continues, this is my last campaign I will ever run for D&D. Both tables have agreed to not purchase any WOTC products in the meantime.
The impact to our local store bothers me as well. I talk with many of the DMs there and we're all of the same mind.
In the meantime, the shop has a TON of inventory tied up in Official D&D products that people would rather set fire to than buy.
I suspect the next surge in D&D products won't generate a dime for WOTC - it will be people like me and others selling all their D&D materials on eBay. It will allow us to recoup some of the money we spent, and it denies WOTC additional revenue, so win-win.
The leaked 1.1 is definitely terrible. Hopefully their announcement today will disavow it, or at least the worst portions of it (the ownership, unilateral short-notice modification, and excessive royalty.)

We needed another thread about this!

So the D&D movie comes out March 31. Hopefully gamestores can avoid purchasing too much stuff for the movie.
