I’m not convinced that things will get any better, Hasbro is determined to heavily monetize the game through paywalling features. The latest response to the backlash feels like a step in the right direction, but it’s hard to give that level of trust back into a company that’s made it clear that they don’t care what we, the community, want. Apparently now they’re going to give us surveys for feedback and not when OGL 1.1 was planned to launch. I’m personally not going to give them any leeway when I take mine, and that’s assuming that they now care to listen. My subscription expires in July, so we’ll see if any claim of changed minds is backed up.
Kudos to the community, including employees at D&D Beyond and WoTC, for applying the pressure to force Hasbro’s hand. Now we’ll see if that mattered
