I'd like to petition we as a community make a general purpose response to this survey. Now I don't believe for a second that WotC is ever going to admit the actual results of a public survey. But, if they're going to open this survey up, results should be consistent.
Based on personal experiences and some information gathered, WotC probably uses a system to gather response data and organize key words and phrases rather than actually reading everyone's reply. They'd also be likely to filter out spam, such as replies that use foul language or mediocre words such as 'bad' that offer no insight. So in light of that, we should probably include phrases such as 'this OGL lacks quality' 'We/I want OGL 1.0(a) reinstated' and 'We/I will no longer purchase Wizards products under the new OGL 1.2' and 'No VTT policy'
This should have an effect of creating very clear messages in the data. These results might get ignored, but if they do it'll send a clear message to anyone who sees the results. Regardless of whether or not OGL 1.0 comes back, I do not plan to return to D&D future content. But this OGL presents a problem in the industry that could fester like a wound. If left to pat themselves on the back, WotC/Hasbro may do more in the future. I can't say for sure or make speculation without being called a 'fearmonger' but you can make your own connections on what's possible. They're already trying to implement this VTT policy with out-of-date and poorly understood classifications, an attempt to off-handedly restrict VTT usage. This puts a strain on us in general, and there's no telling how far they're willing to reach. One truth holds clear, it doesn't matter whether or not Wizards can get away with something in court.
Hasbro has a history of courthouse starvation tactics. The threat of facing a big company in court is enough to change minds and turn heads, because they fight wars of attrition.
