Ok so I'm a bit confused when reading the Homebrew Rules & Guidelines. In the Guidelines, it says "You may NOT submit material that appeared in “Unearthed Arcana”." How does this relate/interact with older UA like Giant Soul Sorcerer, Stone Sorcerer, Brute Fighter, etc. ? Can I make those, older UA not currently posted to D&D Beyond, as homebrew for myself and my player if i were to run a game on here and not get in trouble?
Site note: Where might I find the Syntax for the homebrew maker or guide for how to do things in the homebrew maker? an example of one thing i want to try is have an ability that requires an action to use and it changes the AC (Like stone sorcerer's Stone durability feature)
You can't publish anything that's a direct remake, or close enough to a remake, of previous UA even if it's been archived/abandoned/shelved. You can make literally any hombrew for personal use only.
On a closely related note: When creating a homebrew subclass for personal use, why are the recent UA options not listed as available templates to copy?
I want to add a new rune to the Rune Knight subclass for Fighter. That's it, one additional rune. I'm having to recreate the entire subclass, and struggling to get some of the effects in place. I'd LOVE to copy the existing UA subclass and see how it is done.

This might warrant its own thread. I'd like to know as well

As long as you don't publish it, you van make whatever you want.
There aren't modifiers for temporary effects yet. They are planned though.
