Bumping once as this may have been buried. Though I do have a mod question, would it be possible for whoever runs the DDB twitter account to crosspost here as well, or for a mod to copy what they say? There's a chance we could miss official updates coming from that channel (I'm guessing not everyone here uses Twitter.)
10k responses is interesting. Seems low when they were getting 40k from 1dnd. Of course it’s early still, the number could go up. I wonder if it means lots of people have left, or lots of people don’t care that much, or probably both. It will be interesting to see how many engage with the next 1dnd survey. Not this current one, but whichever opens up next. Then we can see if there’s been a fall off.
It's some combination of 1) people who were genuinely outraged actually leaving and not even bothering to respond, and/or 2) the entire "controversy" was far smaller in scope than its proponents would like you to believe

No one really cares anymore. Especially about comments coming from people that we already know are trying to deceive us. The major 3PP are moving on and WotC isn't going after small creators. Any new OGL is essentially DOA anyway.
OGL1.0a will likely survive a court battle in which case 3PP can just keep doing what they're doing now. One D&D will split what's left of the player base and the broader ttrpg community will benefit from all of the terrible decisions being made at WotC.
People are excited to give feedback about game mechanics for the next version of D&D. They aren't excited to give feedback on a legal document.
80% of my friends who play D&D don't care about "the controversy" and never knew what the OGL was before this all happened. The people who watch non-actual-play content about d&d, and post on forums, is a small percentage of the overall community.
I thought 10k was a lot, commenting on a legal document isn't very exciting and I think that so many people still care enough to fill it in should give WotC food for thought. The current controversy has been that talk of both the groups I play in But as earlier commenters have said some of them may just be giving up on DnD instread, there has been much talk of Pathfinder and OSR.
Was there some advice, at some point not to participate in the survery about the OGL? If so feel like that's probably wrongheaded and maybe maybe old news besides, but I guess it also made me think maybe I'd delay filling it out, unti closer to deadline maybe until my opinion are more fully developed.

I know a lot of people were waiting for lawyers and publishers/VTT developers to analyze it like they did for 1.1. so I expect a number of surveys closer to the deadline.

WotC has issued a preliminary response to the survey feedback so far. Highlights:
The big one for me is the VTT policy as that matches the feedback I submitted (quoting a bunch of Foundry's concerns.)

The VTT policy was my focus in my survey, but it's they point that the 1.2 still isn't The ideal document

I hope they sought this all out and it turns out well for everyone!
