So I have a character jumping in at level 5. The character is a mundane doctor who was a doctor within the military. He is built as a Rogue/Inquisitive. I got him the Healer Feat to represent his Doctoring abilities.
I've got to pick two uncommon and one rare item. Trying to think of fitting magical items for him. Any ideas?

Playtesting Fugare Draconis, an epic tale of adventure, loss, and redemption
I'd go with a +1 weapon because you're getting close to the point where you're going to face creatures that are resistant to non-magical weapons at 5th level.
Other than that, I'd plan how you're going to build him for the next few levels and pick items that give you bonuses that you won't replace with your class features. One annoyance to me about a lot of magic items is they're worthless to the classes that I like to play starting at 5th level because class features duplicate their effects.

What about a Gem of Seeing, which your character used during medical examinations and surgeries?
Also it is a great item for role-playing an inquisitive rogue as it helps you see through disguises and the secrets of others.
A Sword of Life Stealing (rapier or shortsword), a jar of Keoghtom's Ointment and a Robe of Useful Items packed with other things handy for a medic?
