Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to make a parent race such as the Genasi that has subvariants as they do, without first making a 'prime' race (Like humans and variant humans). Would I first make a race and then make subraces afterward? Honestly, I'm trying to do exactly how Genasi and Gnomes are in the character builder, where the subrace name is above the parent race name, so they're grouped that way instead of "Air Genasi" being at the A's and "Fire Genasi" being in the F's.
I learned how to do it. Basically, you make a base race and create subraces afterward with the name of the subrace in front of the parent race. In this way, write Air Genasi as the subrace name, and in the character builder, it reads (Air) in the small font above the parent race name, Genasi.

I'm not sure it's possible, unfortunately. Perhaps with the coming update to the system.
