I have been trying to understand how Cryovain and Venomfang could work together. I saw in the lore that white dragons see benefits in deals, so I made Cryovain an adult white dragon while Venomfang is a young green dragon. Cryovain could see the utility of having Venomfang as his or her grunt, but Venomfang has other plans considering he or she is manipulative and Cryovain has trespassed on Venomfang's territory. I'd imagine it would make him or her a little upset that he or she would feel this way, but due to their different power levels, she or he needs to slowly plan and wait for her or his opportunity. Venomfang has attacked Neverwinter with Cryovain for some strange reason unknown to the party, but Venomfang is about to meet the party for the first time, and the party will do work on Venomfang considering they are all level 5. My plan is that Cryovain won't care to protect Venomfang, so he will fight alone. Just before the group can land the killing blow, Venomfang will interrupt the group's plans and perform some masterful knockback on the party, making them prone. During the whole fight, the dragon will speak to the party, acknowledging their strengths, and when the fight is tilted against Venomfang, they will flee. Later, they will attempt to join the party with the gift of shapeshifting to find and kill Cryovain. If successful, the illusion will break, and then Venomfang will become an adult green dragon, and depending on the engagement they have with the party, they could make a treaty considering Venomfang was technically always peacefully hiding away in the Neverwinter woods. The party never fought Venomfang in Mines of Phandelver, and no one was worried or terrorized by Venomfang. Would anyone have any suggestions on how this could play into the orcs and their summoning of the god boar? I am trying to iron out my story beats.
