Does brutal critical apply to extra damage from magic weapons

Say I am a barbarian with a weapon that deals an extra 1d8 fire damage, and with it I crit against someone. Does Brutal critical only apply to the base weapon or does it also apply to the 1d8 fire damage?

It adds one weapon die of damage. The extra fire damage is just that…extra and separate from the weapon damage.
