I am looking for ideas on what to name Different Shrines that I want the Paladins to find/visit. Each Shrine would deal/grant Wisdom, Courage, Humanity, Justice, Temperance and Transcendence and I would like to have some Amulets, spheres, Staffs, Rings, Holy symbols to unlock Blessed Warrior and Holy Avenger Sword...I can't come up with cool names...Any help would be appreciated. also any interesting ways to kill undead. Thanks
A simple way would be to use Google to translate "Shrine of X" (where X is the trait), and pick a language that has the right feel for your setting and keep the same language (or use related ones to keep the same feel). For example, you might pick Latin, and so the one for courage might be "Fanum Fortitudinis", or you might pick Italian and get "Santuario del Coraggio". Since they're pretty closely related, you could mix it up and have "Santuario Fortitudinis". I wouldn't mix Latin with Mandarin though, because there are very different feels to the languages.
I'd have a pattern, and the simplest way is to translate the names into another language. Just pick a language that suits the tone and setting of the campaign and go. You can even use ChatGPT to translate it into fantasy languages, if you wanted. You just have to exercise judgement in the results. I'd also do it all in one go - you could love the the first four shrine names, then get halfway through the campaign and hate the fifth but can't change it easily because it won't match the pattern of the others.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
You could use the 8 shrines of Virtue from the Ultima PC Game series, they pretty much resemble the traits of most paladins. And i'd just go with "Shrine of Valor" etc. as Paladins (and other people) will be proud of that Virtue. Using an other language might be flavorful but idk how many of your players speak latin or any other language.
For something like this, I'd use needlessly long names. Like: The Peaceful Abode of Souls Delight (which would be Temperance). To get there, you need to climb the mountain - eh, call it Mt. Conatus. At the foot of the mountain is an inn, a rowdy and loud place full of drunk and disorderly former pilgrims who've given up. They'll all say the same thing: The path to the temple is endless.
One particularly annoying guest will insist on arm wrestling (in my mind, he looks like Yama from Big Hero 6).
Now, the mountain cannot be climbed, and the arm wrestling cannot be won - but once you stop trying, cease struggling, find inner peace and serenity, the giant arm wrestler withers into an ancient monk, who opens a door you didn't notice before, and beyond it, just a short walk away, is the mountain top and the temple.
The trouble is dreaming up similar nonsense for all the other virtues.
And then, each temple would require some reward, which again would have to be something seemingly useless. 'Brave Hero, take this tiny bell, and let it's gentle peal remind you that a pleasant sound can be as filling for the soul, as a hearty meal for the body!' And of course, the bell also unlocks one of the unbreachable doors that seal away the Holy Avenger.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
That's what I was talking about, some way to get in using wits instead of pure power. thanks for the ideas. I have the holy avenger as the final prize for reaching the 6 shrines

My pleasure =)
Figuring out 6 of these with each their little gimmimck is going to be ... you know, a job. But clichee's from various old samurai movies can help =)
