My DM gave me the weapon sunforger and we're confused as to what kind of damage it does, physical or magical? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Warhammers deal bludgeoning damage. Because this warhammer is magical, the bludgeoning damage is considered magical. Many enemies have resistance to bludgeoning/piercing/slashing damage from nonmagical attacks, and that resistance would not apply to a magical weapon.
Thank you every, it's much more clearer now. The description said the weapon is magical but didn't say if it dealt magical damage so we were a bit confused. Thank you everyone.

What does the description of the item say?
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
All magic weapons do magical damage of the type typical of the weapon type unless it says otherwise
