Strixhaven or Van Richten’s? I’ve been debating which settingbook I should get next, and I’ve heard awesome things about both, but what are your thoughts
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

I assume you know they are pretty different in their approach. I don't own Strixhaven but from what I have read about it there is much more of an emphasis on contained adventures and a specific campaign that is presented in the book. Van Richten's Guide is an excellent product but only has a single adventure (House of Lament, I like it a lot) with many of the pages devoted to small descriptions of many Domains of Dread to get you inspired to create your own campaign.
I've found Mythic Odysseys of Theros to be the best. Not only did it introduce the idea of Mythic monsters, but I've been able to draw from it regarding nautical challenges and for what boons to give people for advancing in a faction.
I'm surprised Ravnica is rated worse than SCAG. I wonder if that is because people overlooked it?
SCAG has some use if you want https://100001****/ to play in the Forgotten Realms but (other than maybe the gods section) I'm not sure how useful it is for actually creating a homebrew setting. Ravnica has a lot more to offer compared to it.

What kind of campaign do you want to run?

Really don’t care. I could see myself using either.

Who's making a homebrew campaign?
