Hi all. I actually went to a local store and was able to get Xanathar's today (apparently I own two copies now because I have no impulse control sometimes). If anyone else did the same, does your book have a really strong odor? Like, I know new books can have smells that aren't as nice as 'old book smell,' but this one is a bit overpowering.

If you got the limited edition cover, they are a rubberized cover. That smell should go away in a while. (couple of weeks)

Yeah, it's one of those. The normal cover I have on pre-order and should get at the end of the month. I kinda' wonder if it is that though. The covers don't smell, just the pages. ...and I just sniffed my book. Maybe I should just find an air freshener and deal with it XD
This happened with the Planescape boxed set for me. I own a lot of 5e books and these were the only ones that had a heavy chemical smell to them. No idea how to get rid of it. The old plastic container with baking soda did not do the trick.

The combination of your image and this post is very interesting...
