Last night (12Sept20) from about 4:00PM until we stopped playing at 9:30PM EST. Our group was having problems with D&D Beyond just freezing up.
We were playing remotely so there was no common internet connection or provider.
We are all using different devices from apple ipads, pcs, macs, and various browsers.
Nobody is using the player app that I know of, everyone is logged into the web version of their character sheets.
My players noticed dice not rolling (they would click on a roll on their character sheet and nothing would happen), or dice freezing in mid roll and not resolving a die roll. They also noticed the character sheet locking up so they couldnt click on magic items or spells.
I as the DM often have multiple D&D Beyond tabs open in my browser and I experienced blank tabs (like the tab was previously opened to a monster or spell then when I went to go click on that tab the screen was blank for several seconds before loading the page again), or monster tabs just being frozen, dice roller being froze, and the encounter tracker freezing up. I even had one event where I auto-rolled initiative and when the encounter started none of my monsters had initiative.
I have personally noted this kind of behavior in the past month or so but I havent previously reported it because I had been thinking it was my AV software on my laptop. After last nights issues with our group and it being spread over multiple devices and browsers I am left with the conclusion that the issue must be on D&D Beyonds side of things. I am going to bet you guys are having some server performance issues / network bandwidth issues that need to be addressed, or maybe with the success of D&D Beyond and more users its time to invest in some more servers to spread the load out. Anyway, I hope you will look into this.
This is happening to me, where I can open a new tab, navigate to my campaign home screen, but then I am unable to view any of my players' characters, or navigate away from the campaign page.
