Has anyone noticed that there are several boons that were left out of the PHB 2024? Here are a few:
Boon of High Magic
Boon of Immortality
Boon of Magic Resistance
Boon of Perfect Health
Does anyone think we may get these when the DMG 2024 comes out? I think most of the missing ones we can create as homebrew with the exception of High magic as there is no other way to grant extra spell slots.
Anything in the 2014 books not replaced in the 2024 books can be used as is or with some adjustments. You can treat those feats similar to how you treat half elves and orcs, and just port them directly over.
Comparing the old and new Boon of Spell Recall, it got significantly nerfed; High Magic is almost as strong as the old Spell Recall, so I am pretty sure they intentionally left it out. Magic Resistance and Perfect Health are nowhere near as bonkers as High Magic and 2014 Spell Recall, but they are still significantly better than the average 2024 Epic Boons. I think they left out Immortality intentionally since it is really niche in terms of mechanics, but it could significantly impact the plot, so they probably want the GM to handle stuff like that on a per campaign basis, and not let players have access to it freely.
Personally, I do not think High Magic will be ported over at all. I do not think Immortality will be ported over either, but if they do, I think the best place for it to show up would be in the DMG, as an example on how to homebrew content, kind of like the Eladrin and Oathbreaker in the 2014 DMG.
Magic Resistance and Perfect Health might get nerfed and then ported over in a splat book, but I do not think it belongs in the DMG. Fire Soul and Stormborn are pretty tame as far old Epic Boons go, but they did not get ported over, so I assume they might be in a splat book too.
I don’t expect to see high magic or immortality anytime soon but they are fairly easily added in the notes on the character sheet. Other missing boons are likely to be appearing in the DMG or latter splat books. We will have to see what shows up n the new DMG and the new FRs books next year.

I don't think that is accurate. There is nothing in the book that allows you to bring over feats (a Boon is a feat) that were not included in the 2024 version (for example Shove). As for the Half anything's, I can't say for sure what happens there. I have the digital book and I don't see how it's possible.

From what I remember them saying in the videos in regards to backwards compatability, anything not replaced can still be used, either as is, or with minor adjustments. And if something has been replaced, then use the newer version. There is no point in mentioning backwards compatibility if you cannot bring over feats, species, and other things from XGTE, TCOE, MP:MOTM, and all the other old books.
