Recently, I fell in the web of D&D Beyond. I’ve been resisting for a long time, but that song and than animated opening were just too cool 😉 Yesterday the rest of the party could test some features of the app, and they really liked it. They liked it so much that we are considering to purchase a DM tier subscription, but there are some questions that need to be solved. I’ve been reading the Buyer’s Guide, but I couldn’t find a case like ours, so here it goes.
1.- I watch the trailer, hear the song, and I decide to give a chance to this utility. So I buy some books and create my character sheet. I have my Twitch account, so my books are there. I’m not the DM.
2.- The rest of the party (4 players and the DM) decide to use the app, and consider a DM tier subscription. They have nothing yet.
So what is the best option? Do we have to open a new common account, managed by the DM? And if so, what happens with the books I already purchased? They are in a personal account, not in the common. Can they be shared?
2) The DM can create a campaign here and give away the link provided on the campaign page to the players, you included, and the players can join creating or uploading a character.
3) The owner of the Master Tier can go on the campaign page and activate the sharing with a toggle. Once that is done, every purchase is shared among players and DM.
Thanks for your quick answer! So, as I understand, you don’t need to be the DM to be te owner of the DM account. You just have it and invite people to join in, and once we are connected We can share our own books and take roles as Player or DM as we will. Is it right? If so, this is more than amazing!
Hi everyone!
I’m new here so... Nice to meet you all!

Hi Filraen, and welcome.
The sharing is simple: you do not need a shard account, everyone keeps his/her account. Follow these steps:
1) You, your DM or anyone of the other players can do a Master Tier subscription on DDB.
2) The DM can create a campaign here and give away the link provided on the campaign page to the players, you included, and the players can join creating or uploading a character.
3) The owner of the Master Tier can go on the campaign page and activate the sharing with a toggle. Once that is done, every purchase is shared among players and DM.

Allow me to clarify a bit further.
The DM creates the campaign slot and invites people to be players.
Then, the owner of the Master Tier (can be the DM or anyone else) goes in and toggles the sharing on.
Thanks for all the information. We’ll try a couple of months, and if this is the app we are looking for we will stay and enjoy.
Thanks again!
