Can you counterspell an action that is 1/day? Specifically, creature has the ability to take an action of Sumon Demon 1/day. Can that be counterspelled?
Sometimes. That is, only when the 1/day action is a spell. It doesn't matter where a spell is from (except kinda in a few cases where certain items duplicate the effects of spells but don't actually cast the spells themselves); a spell's a spell, and a Counterspell's a counter to a spell. However, the Summon Demon action that you're referring to probably isn't a spell, which means a no on Counterspell.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
