I like Loxodons if you are using custom character creation and can move the ability bonuses, they work well as Wizards, sorcerers, and artificers (who normally wouldn't have armor).
Throom is level 3 evoker right now and making good use of the CON based armor (I dumped DEX to10 to use in INT and CON), better saving throws, and scent-based skill bonuses. He is a Silverquill Strixhaven student in a student exchange program to a Magic Academy in a very magical (homebrew) world with dimensional towers (think dungeon crawl) and an arena. He's 7'2 and 310 lbs so small for his kind. He has a sense of humor -- he told the group cleric to hold his breath last week (in the arena) and cast shatter at him but protected him from it (an evoker ability) ...and two enemies (constructs that had disadvantage on the save and failed) were hit. He was also the only one willing to fire the loaded ballista in their side of the arena and that shot did a lot of damage. And he made trumpet noises for the kids in the crowd when the ballista hit.
Dà Xiàng is my Conjuration Wizard/Battlesmith Artificer He's the party healer and an advent reader. He studied war strategies and was able to quickly put a stop to the party's tank which was mind-controlled by a cursed weapon. Combat ended before Dà Xiàng was able to take his second turn.
Chestnut is my Wildfire Druid/Life Cleric Also the party's healer. He gets audibly sick when he hears about blood, violence, and relations.
Bayul Seamoss is my Fathomless Warlock He'd never seen a human or any race with human features until he went to Strixhaven. He loves swimming and back home is part of an underwater sports team. He also LOVES animals and refers to elephants as family.
Dumbo is my Soulknife Rogue He's an NPC that I made, so he has the least amount of personality (considering I haven't run him in any of my campaigns yet).
Loxodons are my second race to play. 1. Changelings 2. Loxodons 3. Harengons 4. Lizardfolk

Horton is a warlock of the Great Old One.
Horton hears Cthulhu!
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Oh, nice, you get a good expanded spell list. Does Horton have any ...... quirks?

Well, he's got a bit of an obsession with hatching overly large eggs...

Wow, this huge blue egg is kind of staticky....

I have several Loxodon characters.

Nice! I play a lot of Autognomes, Loxodons, Tortles, and Satyrs but probably will take something with flight next time (owlin or winged Tiefling).
