With the release of the 2024 PHB, many new things were added and backwards compatibility had previously been promised. However the people I play with have encountered issues. Namely our Artificer, being apart of the Expanded Rules / Legacy classes and not the Core classes, only has access to Legacy spells (ex: Cure Wounds). For tables that no longer play with old spells, but instead the new ones, it makes it impossible to play with Legacy classes / Artificers because they don't have access to these spells.
Has anyone else encountered similar issues while building their characters using the 2024 PHB content? Does anyone know if this is being worked on and fixed?
I am having trouble converting one of my player's Gunslinger. The subclass isn't available to select
I have not explored much but Fighter in general seems missing several options. Gunslinger, Echo Knight (yes, I have CR content and every other potential source enabled) and Arcane Archer jumped out at me.

Arcane archer they probably just missed when assembling the update.
All the third-party stuff is probably contractual. They likely don't have the rights to publish modified versions of it, and updating it for 5e24 requires that. They'll probably get them up as they can reach agreements with the third parties. (Should they have taken care of that beforehand? Probably, but it's the sort of thing that can fall by the wayside even in well-organized companies that aren't doing a last-minute scramble.)

I literally just played around with my character and switched between things I have current from 2014 to the new stuff. I didn't see any problems. I was also able to switch back to 2014 on everything.
Can't really change fully over to 2024 until the rules are digitally released. For example Sailor and Farmer backgrounds aren't available, but Acolyte is.
So assume a new player arrives at a table that is not cutting over to the newest material. Can the DM share the old material with a new player? What if that new player was going to play a subclass that has been written over by the new material?
Yeah, but they don't have to modify them - just make them available like legacy content
The legacy subclasses are being modified to use with 2024 classes. It's most obvious for the classes that used to have earlier subclass choice, but it's likely true for all of them. (And even if it isn't actually true for all, a consistent policy is a better plan.)

This is something that you could easily determine for yourself. But yes, of course content sharing of the old material is still working. And you can still choose 2014 subclasses for 2014 classes. Indeed, you cannot not do so.

Surely a toggle to automatically convert 2014 content to 2024 content and back wouldn't constitute a violation of contracts or be that hard?

Yes it would be.

I am having trouble with my cleric. I want to play blood domain but I can't select it with the 2024 cleric... sadge
Third-party subclasses don't work with the new class versions.
They've said they're working with their partners to make it happen.
Or you can do it with private homebrew.
