I’ve been thinking about this: what’s actually better, attuning to the Rod of Seven Parts or not?
My wizard already has 3 attunements, and I need to decide whether, after managing to find all the pieces of the Rod of Seven Parts, I should attune to it or not. If each piece of the rod provides a spell that recharges at dawn, and the rod, when attuned, requires rolling 1d4+3 to determine how many charges it regains, wouldn’t it be better to keep the pieces separate? The only major benefit I see is a +3 to attack and damage rolls, but I already have a Staff of Power.
Does anyone know if there’s any real advantage to assembling the parts? Would it just be a choice focused on narrative rather than mechanics?

Once all seven pieces are reassembled and you attune to the Rod of Seven Parts, apart from functioning as a magic quarterstaff +3, It allow you to cast any of its spells more than once per day by using charges instead, in addition to Detect Evil and Good free of charges.
