When I pay for DnD Beyond, either a subscription or a book, how much goes to the actual employees of WOTC? Not D&D Beyond or the company WOTC, but the employees. I was wanting to pay for it to support the hardworking staff. Does anyone have any ideas?
None of your purchase goes to any employees directly. Wizards of the Coast employees are on salary, not commission - their salary remains the same regardless of whether you buy anything or not.
Now, you buying a book does put money into Wizards’ pocket, which, in turn, allows Wizards to turn around and pay their staff. If folks stop paying Wizards and their profits fail to meet expectations, layoffs happen (as occurred last year). If your question actually was “what percentage of Wizards’ revenue goes to payroll?” that is a question only Wizards’ finance department is really going to know.
haven't been around a while? No game , no business has money taken in go directly to employees. That's why they get Paid. They do work and the entity that pays them collects from the efforts to balance paying employees, growth investment, and profit.
